                    Service Department

Field Service Technician - Western KY/Southern IL

Worldwide leader in the manufacture of heavy mobile machinery has an immediate opening for a Fletcher Service Inc. (FSI) Field Service Technician in Western KY / Southern IL. The skilled job will require expertise in electrical, hydraulics, troubleshooting and engineering. Position will install, perform repairs, and audit J.H. Fletcher & Co. equipment at customer locations. Wil perform standard work assignments, without supervision, according to needs of the customer and company. The applicant will be required to work irregular hours and complete jobs within specific deadlines. The job will include a company vehicle.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical, mechanical and troubleshooting abilities to define and perform maintenance and repairs

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate company service trucks and follow DOT regulations

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical service manuals

  • Ability to use hand tools, welders, micrometer and other tools

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to work underground and complete required MSHA training

  • Experience in hydraulics and electrical

  • Travel required– 75% of the time

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of J.H. Fletcher & Co. equipment at customer sites.

  • Provide technical support and orient customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Conduct site surveys, prepare and present detailed reports on service interventions, and recommend improvements.

  • Manage and maintain inventory of parts and tools required for field service tasks.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies while on-site.

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, providing exceptional customer service to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
