Hydraulic Design Engineer - Huntington, WV

Responsibilities will include all phases of hydraulic circuit design and creation, providing technical leadership and support for troubleshooting, and more. This job will include occasional travel, (dependent on COVID restrictions), where assistance to sales or service staff is required. Thorough knowledge and experience in mobile hydraulic machinery including pumps (fixed and load sense), cartridge valves, directional controls, motors, piping and oil distribution, filtration, etc. is preferred. Possessing a P.E. license is a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications:


BSME and IFPS certification with at least 3 years experience

Mechanical Engineer - Huntington, WV

Solid Edge CAD, Teamcenter PLM software, Microsoft Office Suite, ANSYS FEA are all a plus. Previous experience in heavy mobile equipment design is preferred. Possessing a P.E. license is a plus. Bill of Materials Technician

Worldwide leader in the manufacture of heavy mobile machinery has a job opening for a Bill of Materials Technician. Two years minimum of equivalent experience is required. This position will act as a liaison between the engineering, purchasing, sales, and production departments. The candidate should have meticulous attention to detail when working with numbers and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidate will be expected to work overtime when necessary. The job will be in Huntington, West Virginia. 

Minimum Requirements:

•    2 years’ relevant experience
•    Knowledge of basic math, fractions, angles, volume and ability to read and interpret drawings (Knowledge of J.H. Fletcher & Co. Bill of Materials systems would be a plus)
•    Some experience utilizing computer database management software
•    Attention to detail to ensure accuracy when working with parts and drawing numbers
•    Must possess excellent communication and organization skills in order to work with surrounding departments successfully and complete timely ordering of components

Job Duties will include:

•    Entering engineering design drawings and other required information into database management systems  AS400, Teamcenter, etc.
•    Creating bill of materials based on design drawings
•    Editing drawings using CAD software
•    Rolling up costing on previous jobs to assist sales with proposals or machine cost analysis

•    Working with engineering department to select material processing methods need to achieve efficient production
•    Helping outshops obtain updated drawings and bills of material
•    Working with authorized agents to organize information flow for collaborative machines, such as but not limited to: bill of materials, parts books, circuits, photos, etc.
•    Other duties as assigned

Mechanical Engineering Intern and/or Co-Op Student - Huntington, WV

J. H. Fletcher & Co, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of underground mining machinery has a job opening for a Mechanical Engineering Intern interested in machine design. The job will provide the engineering student an opportunity to gain experience and work with a mechanical engineer on designing and building numerous mobile equipment applications. The job will be in the engineering department in Huntington, West Virginia.
Experience with Solid Edge CAD software, Teamcenter PLM software, Microsoft Office Suite, ANSYS FEA is preferred. Previous mechanical experience in manufacturing large equipment is also a plus.

Qualified applicant will have a drafting certification from an accredited school or  2-3 years’ related on the job experience as a drafting technician. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, effective communication skills and  strong organizational abilities are also required. The candidate should have a collaborative work style with the ability to work independently. The job will be in Huntington, West Virginia.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Drafting Certification from Accredited School or relevant on the job experience

  • Knowledgeable in basic math, fractions, angles, volume, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings

  • Must be willing to learn different computer programs

  • Knowledgeable of documentation and flow to preform manufacturing

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience

  • Experience with AS400, MS Office Suite, Solid Edge, GD&T concepts

 

Job Duties will include:

  • Developing detailed design drawings and specifications for equipment and parts using CAD software

  • Modifying and revising designs to correct deficiencies to reduce production errors.

  • Evaluating the completeness and accuracy of Mechanical/Hydraulic Circuits

  • Communicating with other departments to successfully complete timely ordering and design of components.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience working in an engineering/manufacturing company

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering

  • Ability to read all types of engineering drawings, circuits, or technical manuals

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes to allow for decision making ability

  • Understanding of engineering concepts related to manufacturing facilities.

  • Strong communication skills in order to gain understanding of the operational duties between all departments

  • Proficient in MS office applications

 

 

Job Duties will include:

  • Managing the group that processes design drawings and improving systems where possible

  • Effectively identifying the manufacturing process that is most efficient when reviewing design drawings

  • Matching best vendor for making parts based on capacity constraints and capabilities

  • Supervising internal product flow (parts routing) between manufacturing cells and improving layouts where possible

  • Maintaining BOM (bill of material), checking for returned parts and adjusting the BOM for correctness.

  • Traveling to potential vendors to learn possible capabilities at other facilities

  • Acting as a liaison between the quality control, sales, purchasing and engineering departments.

  • Other duties as assigned
